YOU KNOW, as much as the coalition of Liberal-NDP would probably be closer to my political leanings, and I have no doubt it would be better for my industry, and probably the country, than a government run by an ideologue who puts political advantage ahead of country, and rules with an authoritarian fist...I'm uneasy.
But let's face it. Harper has enforced discipline, and has driven the government so that all decisionmaking is in his hands. He wears this crisis. It is entirely of his making.
If the Conservatives have any hope of retaining power, I think the first step is obvious:
Demand Harper's resignation. He absolutely has to go. He is a cancer, not a leader.
I don't know if it would save the government -- but it would definitely be better for the country.

I understand your trepidation with this new governing coalition that is emerging on the Canadian horizon. After all, barely two months have passed since the Canadian Federal Election, and nobody really saw this one coming.
Not even Gabe Carini, and I’m blessed with nightly vision quests (FYI, if you’re interested in attaining vision quests: mix 2 parts Neo Citron, 2 parts Advil, and a tumbler of brandy).
Shock and awe aside, Prime Minister Harper was asking for it. He started to govern this new mandate the same way he always does…like a handsome high school jock swinging his long baseball bat in a cafeteria full of insecure, unattractive, overweight girls.
Well, it seems the fat girls finally had enough and they formed a Fat Chick Boot Camp over the weekend to turn themselves into a Supermodel – and she’s ready to govern until June of 2011.
Now I understand that you're worried about what this means for the political future of Gabe Carini. Will Gabe Carini abandon his MySpace minions to join this coalition??? Good question.
While the odour of power is tempting, Gabe Carini is pretty reluctant to get into bed with other politicians just for the sake of governing. As such, I intend to remain the Prime Minister of MySpace Canada. I know, whew.

"cancer" is a very strong word and I'm saddened to have to say that it is appropriate. Harper has become a dark and divisive force. Regardless of ones politics you have to concede that nothing good for the country can come from his continuing in office. His conduct in The House today confirmed it.
I think he should leave for medical reasons. He hallucinated that there were no Canadian flags at the Opposition's signing ceremony when, in reality, there was something like four plus the provincial flags. I think all that screaming at the opposition might have affected his health.

While my political views are also more in tune w/ Liberal/NDP, I don't tend to view all conservatives as the demons that some other lefties do. I could live w/ a moderate conservative gov't as long as they had a real leader, instead of Harper who is the most mean-spirited, partisan politician I can remember.
The best solution to this situation is for Harper to resign & the conservatives come up w/ a REAL leader & a real plan for the economy.
