I'VE BLOGGED before about The Canadian Screenwriting Awards, and how they're pretty much the best party going. (Erudite wiseasses + good food x booze/ short awards show = Awesome.) Well, before the big shindig comes the entries. Originally the deadline for entries was tomorrow, but it's now been extended to Monday, Dec 3 at 5:30 pm.
To be eligible for entry, scripts must have been produced within the WGC’s jurisdiction, and either broadcast on TV or radio, released theatrically in North America, or screened at a Canadian film festival for the first time between December 1, 2006, and November 30, 2007. All entries must be written and submitted by a WGC m ember in good standing.
So there you go. Don't be shy. Get those scripts in. And in a related story, they're looking for judges...

Everyone has an opinion about what makes a great script – here’s your chance to make your opinion matter. The WGC is looking for members to volunteer as judges for our upcoming 2008 Canadian Screenwriting Awards.
To volunteer as a judge, please email David Kinahan at d.kinahan@wgc.ca and indicate the genre(s) in which you have experience. Please do not volunteer in any category where you have submitted an entry.
