Is it just me, or was the curriculum different when we went to school? It seemed like some questions were too soon and some too late. I will qualify that by saying I moved around a lot as a kid so maybe jumping from board to board screwed me up.
I am happy to say I am about as smart as a fifth grader most days.
Mark Burnett is evil but the show is hilarious. I find that I can't take the full hour but I am usually as smart as a fourth grader- they generally don't choose the fifth grade questions before they drop out or take the money.
oh my god....i saw the show.....how is it that I, as a little canadian kid, somehow knew more about american history than the americans....oh right, that imaginary line we call a border (i keep forgetting that i shouldn't use my inside voice on the outside, or in blog posts = trouble)
...if only it were real....
i'm only now exploring canadian history with any kind of intent. i went to quebec city in grade 8, and screamed from the steps of chateau frontenac, "je suis anglais...".
imagine, and i'm un demi quebecois or coise, cause i'm a girl, but i don't know how to make everything agree....

Don't sell yourself short. I think you're at least as smart as a sixth grader. Most of the time.
