MEDIAWEEK'S Marc Berman has the news that should surprise practically no one. In week two, 90210 was considerably less glitzy than its debut.
In other premiere news, Fringe on FOX -- after all the Internet hype did "good, but not great."
The other piece of info I gleaned from Berman -- a week two drop of 10 to 15 percent in the ratings is expected. 90210 dropped 28 percent. That's NOT good news. Not at all.
Looks like if the CW's gonna get saved, it's not going to be due to the kids from Beverly.
I'm getting my ass kicked by an outline, so feel free to speculate on either of these two shows, or the season to come, in the comments below. I have to agree with Diane (although I'm sure I'll be wrong somehow in the way I agree :) -- I'm just not excited about anything on TV this fall. And I have a feeling that my TV viewing's going to be off about 30-40% from last season. And way more sports, too.

Going out on a limb here, but I found Fringe - dare I say it, entertaining. Loved the gross opener (homage to X-Files), loved the near future science and the robotic hand was so much fun a la Terminator. Love the mad scientist. Love the cow.
It's just going to be a ride, I hope.
I'm a fan of True Blood as well. Probably because I just love anything vampiric as long as the mythology works.
I'll tune into Eleventh Hour at least once to see Rufus Sewell - although it doesn't appear to be anywhere near Fringe's level of fun.
I'm sure there's a way to blame the Writers for all of this. Going on strike. Not being able to come up with a new season overnight. Stuff like that.
I haven't bothered with 90210. Didn't get it the first time around. Sure aren't intrested in catching up now.
But I liked the first episode of "Fringe" -- although I watched it on CTV and noticed some confusion on where to put the commercials under the Fox Premium format.
I'm liking "First Blood" and think "Sons of Anarchy" has a chance to break out. There's something quite Shakespearean about it, but I think they're still a little unsure about fully embracing it.
Let's face it, the nets interested in being fresh or challenging their audience (FX, AMC, TNT) can still only afford to produce a handful of shows per week, so unless you want to watch "more of the same", you're automatically watching less.
The fact that the powers that be up here seem to think 3 new sports channels can all make money tells me they know we're all going to be looking for more sports.
Sorry. I Meant "True Blood". I'll start paying attention any day now.

I watched the opener of 90210 (my girlfriend practically tied me to the chair - and not in a good way) and I have to say it was pretty darn painful.
It reminded me very much of someone who was trying to recapture a former glory by being 'hip' and 'cool' for all the kids.
Far too slick - introducing something like 15-20ish characters in the span of 10 mins or less - and not very deep this show spent it's entire 1st act practically screaming "Hey! You remember me, right? Right?! LOVE ME!!!"
My girlfriend wanted to smack me - I was calling out plot twists the moment they were set up with something bordering on 90% accuracy - I've come to realize that when I come across a show that really irks me I'm not a good person to have in the room.
Fringe was one that I was looking forward to and - for the most part - got sucked into. Again, I saw the two big twists coming but ended up not really bothered by it. Strangely enough the mad scientist is my favourite character on the show so far. Not sure what that says about me, but hey - my hat's off to John Noble. Good Job sir!
Have yet to see 'True Blood' yet - I like Vampire shows so I'll track it down and give it a look see. I've heard somewhat mixed reviews though on my end.
