IS SOMEONE whose name you likely will only know if you're a writer or producer in this country. She's been a development executive at CTV for several years, and recently she's been heading up the development at CTV from Vancouver.
She's leaving CTV. Officially, for a sabbatical, a change and something new. Man, if I was a Production Company in this country, I would snap this woman up fast as you can.
I only had one meeting with Clark, for a project that I was briefly involved with last fall. But she was well liked and well respected -- arguably the most respected development exec in Canada. In a world where a lot of people jump to take credit for it -- those in the know would point to Louise Clark as the person most responsible (on the Network side) for bringing Corner Gas to CTV.
This isn't the best news for creatives. I hope that CTV, a place that's had a lot of turnover in the last year, finds its way. There's some good people there, and I guess though there's never a great time for this kind of thing, at least it's happening when they have the blush of recent success.

she was a great champion of the show and an awesome note-giver.
perhaps she will finally be able to pursue her dream of becoming a professional figure skater!
Yeah Louise is great. I am sad to see her go.
Tells you what kind of pressure cooker that job puts people in and what a testament it is to Bill Mustos that he survived so long before needing a sabbatical. The grass isn't necessarily greener. I expect more great things from Louise, and hope she ends up in the independent production community. We could use her on our side these days.
