In every life there is a river that divides one generation from the next. A river of time that separates the people we were from the people we become. For Ben Ford and his daughter Kathleen, the river of history is about to change course, exposing the secrets of a lifetime laying just beneath its surface.
Across the River to Motor City is an epic story about the lengths a father will go to protect his daughter from his tormented past.

The website looks pretty nifty.Funny, it seems like a million years ago and another lifetime when I wrote all that description and copy. Good to see it going to good use. The best thing about the show is probably the great performances from the two Ben Fords -- (David Fox and Sasha Roiz) -- two fine, fine Canadian actors.
I saw one of the actresses from the show in a casting session last week. She mentioned she'd done some press. That's cool.
I'm all about letting the pretty people do the selling. Even I don't want to see my barnacled ass on the TeeVee.

I am. But not by birth. I'm a dual citizen, Canada-USA.
And it's one of my great ...theses? I'll go with theses, that one of the thing that defines Canada is how they view their relationship with the United States.
Detroit and Windsor are a fascinating locale. it's, I think, the only place in the world where an international border runs through a major city. One one side, huge Detroit, on the other, Tiny Windsor -- they couldn't be more different.Yet 15000 people cross to work or live every day.
That's the setting for the story.
As the series progresses we examine other interesting differences, like Canada's rather draconian pre-1968 divorce laws. It's good fun.
