Playback buried the lead in the CBC/Rabinovitch/Headhunting story. The final paragraph is this:Indeed.

Eves."
Right. Well that explains a lot.

Yeah, but to be fair, that is kind of the way it works. Government gets to appoint is all.
The problem is that we're now following the U.S. example -- if you're on the right wing, you can push someone as extreme as you want and dare people to say something.
The Liberals would never have dared propose someone for that job who was as left wing as Tom Long is right. And that's where the balance goes a-screwy.

And this sort of situation we now have is pretty much what we were afraid of seeing happen, isn't it?
