YOU'RE COUNTING down, ten nine eight... waiting to touch down, the only part of the flight when you're a little scared...and you're maybe 100 feet from the ground and suddenly the engines scream bloody murder and the plane banks left and up, up up and you're all like, WTF?
And then a couple minutes later, the Air Canada First Officer comes on and says, with characteristic understatement, "Folks, they were gonna put us on a runway with a flight that hadn't exactly cleared. So we're gonna come around again and give him some extra time to take off."
And then you know you're someone who watches The Office too much. Because you do a take to the IMAGINARY CAMERA.
Whoa.
Still, all in all, it's nice to be on the ground in one piece.
I've gotta unpack. More tomorrow.

Glad you made it back in one piece, dude. Welcome home!

Welcome back, D!
You're grounded.
Welcome back, the city missed ya. Isn't it nice coming home after an extended trip? Your space and your stuff was never so wonderful.
Man! You are not having luck with landings lately! Remember, any ones you walk away from are good.
And take some comfort in the fact that landings far safer than takeoffs.
But takeoffs are more fun. I make a point of waiting for the engines to kick in full and then start singing "Highway to the Danger Zone" -- guaranteed to get you extra attention and free booze from the cabin crew.
