My paranoid friends insist that he covered up JFK's assassination as part of the Warren Commission. But to me he will go down as the doddering guy who was the first President I ever saw lampooned on SNL, and the first President I ever saw who got beat in the election. I didn't even know, back in that bicentennial year, that that could actually happen. Maybe I was a child autocrat or something. But hey, it was Florida. I was young. So long Gerry.
