WOW, THIS city sure is smoggy. It's hard to believe that less than forty-eight hours ago I was sitting on Locarno Beach, watching windsurfers framed against a blue-blue sky.
Here in Toronto, the sky's a kind of sickly white and mustard yellow. The light hitting the ground is a bit chunky. Even the greens of the trees are a bit...well...muted.
And you breathe in, and there it is...the unmistakable scent... of ass.
How the hell do you Angelinos do it? I feel like I want to put on a mask.
Save me, Al Gore. Save me.

I've lived in LA before and like it! But the smog makes me sick and the traffic makes me cranky. That is why I haven't been able to leave the Bay Area. Here in SF, I'm surrounded on 3 sides by water, which acts as an air conditioner and purifier. No smog. Ever. I love it.
lately, the marine layer coming in the morning has been grabbing the yellow out of the air and taking it away.
We have the occaisional chemical smell, but no "ass." It must be particular to Toronto.
And it's real easy to hop in the car and go to the mountains or the desert, or up the coast to get in touch with nature again. Used to be you could go to Griffith Park, but these days -- not so much.
off-topic:
you're getting a little love (or like as a friend) over at teamakers.
That is the smell of life.
Clean air? Pah. Like drinking pure alcohol. Natural but dangerous. But they don't make movies about the deleterious effects of undistilled air, now do they?
sorry about my earlier post; should have read the comments in the police thread

For some reason I don't think it will bug DMc that it's been pointed out in more than one comment thread that they like him, they really like him.
Anyway, DMc, so this post and the one before, to recap: you were wrong, wrong, wrong about Vancouver and will never say anything bad about it ever again?
No way, Deekay. Your drivers is crazy.
