TONIGHT IS THE season finale of THE BORDER. (CBC, 9pm)
Interestingly enough, this episode was scripted and shot mostly after my contract was up last fall. I wasn't around when they made it. I didn't see any cuts of it. What that means is that a few weeks ago, I got to see it for the first time, fresh, pretty much as viewers do.
And I was some heap impressed. It's a sweeping story, with flashbacks and secrets exposed and twists and all manner of tension piled high upon tension. It's a cracker. Tune it in, and I hope you'll agree.

Fabulous ending!
I enjoyed all the episodes. The finale was no exception. The flash backs really gave weight to Kessler's personality. The tension between Mannering and Kessler all season played out to perfection here and I can relax knowing Williams is a true team player.
Bring on season 2!
I really liked this show a lot, but I think I would have loved it if the shots had been a little more...stable. The shaky camera thing made me physically ill and couldn't keep my eyes on the screen for more than 10 or 15 seconds at a time before I had to look away. So, for the most part, I heard The Border rather than watched it.
