READ this first.
Then, find your MP (Member of Parliament) by searching by Postal Code here. It's especially important to do this if you live in a riding represented by a Conservative MP.
Next, write a letter. It should be faxed or emailed -- this bill is in its 3rd reading, which means that it could become law very soon. There's no time to mail. I would also call your constituent office to express your displeasure directly.
I would also suggest writing a letter to your local newspaper. Tell them how you feel about censorship. Try not to do so in a way that will get you censored.
If you have a call-in talk show on the radio in your community, call in. Tell them how you feel. Make sure to emphasize how sneakily this is being done. Along with a whole bunch of other changes to the Income Tax act.
While you're at it, you may want to write the Minister of Canadian Heritage. Tell her you don't appreciate her trying to pull a fast one like this. Remind her that she serves as part of a minority government -- a minority government by a party who's not getting a ton of great press right now.
You can also write the Leader of the Official Opposition.
Good luck, and if you do write a letter, thank you.

Done!
I would also email a Liberal Senator or two, especially Larry Campbell, he has made a buck or two off the television industry!

I have sent an email to Bill Good at CKNW in Vancouver with the headline and the link, expressing my (our) outrage.
CTV's lobby person/people now have it too!
I would suggest that anyone that has in's at CBC and Global follow suit. This affects them too.
Larry Campbell's email address as listed on the Government website returns
Delivery to the following recipients failed.

Way ahead of you. I emailed my MP earlier this afternoon, after reading your post. This was the first I've heard of this.
I sensed this when he was in Opposition and now I'm convinced: Steven Harper not only hates culture but I'm pretty sure he's not too fond of the country as whole.
I'm currently writing my letter online in (somewhat) real time.
Please feel free to pop in and offer your input as I want to make sure I do this right.
Thanks,
Brandon
I would also suggest sending letters to the Heritage critics for the Liberals, NDP & Bloq.
The Globe this morning offers an explanation for this terrible mix-up. Turns out it was Jesus (or at least his self-appointed spokesmen on earth) that had the problem with the way Canadian film and television is funded. God help us.
Maybe we're all wrong about this:
"There are a lot of things on TV today that, I think, have gone too far," said Mary Darling, executive producer of "Little Mosque on the Prairie," which airs in over 80 markets globally, including French-speaking Africa, the Middle East and several European countries.
"If something comes along that helps us to at least discern what is acceptable . . . then I think, as a producer, I'd be willing to look at that and explore it."
Here's the link to that Globe & Mail article. Yes, it was none other than Charles McVety, president of the Canada Family Action Coalition, taking credit for this nonsense.
BTW, this thing is in third reading in the Senate, so writing your MP may not do any good at this point. I would suggest emailing every senator in your province with your objections.
As a Parliament geek, I've looked up the Bill and yes, it is indeed at the Senate now, which means that while you should still write your MP, you should also write the Senators in your province, with special attention to the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Céline Hervieux-Payette, and Leader of the Opposition, Stéphane Dion (as he could possibly direct the Senators in his caucus to vote against the bill, or to offer up amendments which would then be sent back the House for ratification--hence the writing to your MP). Remember the Liberals have the majority in the Senate--if you engage enough of them, there may yet be hope.
Charles McVety is a regular guest on the John Oakley show on AM 640 in the mornings. I will call every day if I have to until he answers for this. If the usual bigotry and ignorance he spews out onto the air waves is any indication of where this is going, then this is the single biggest crisis to ever face our industry.
